Natural Gas as a Fuel for Military Vehicles

While approximately one thousand U.S. military domestic non-tactical vehicles run on natural gas, when it comes to the U.S. tactical fleet abroad, there exist several barriers to switching from traditional liquid fuels to natural gas as a direct fuel, observes Bret Strogen, AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow on the Innovation Team within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy.
